My Journey: Finding Sunshine After Loss

Finding peace in simple moments of connection
Finding peace in simple moments of connection

Through my journey of loss and renewal as a younger widow, I quickly learned how isolating this path can feel. Most people around me couldn’t relate to what I was going through, and at times, I felt invisible in my own grief. There were days when the weight was so heavy I wondered how I would ever move forward. If it weren’t for my beautiful girls — and the promises I made to my husband — I know I would not have made it.

Here’s what I want you to know: you can move forward. It may be slow, and it may look different for each of us, but step by step, life can begin to feel meaningful again.

This space was born out of my desire to share that truth. Sunshine After Loss is more than a blog — it’s a place for widows to find encouragement, connection, and the reminder that you are not alone. It’s a sisterhood — a club none of us ever wanted to join, yet one that connects us in profound ways. Here, I’ll share my own experiences of heartbreak, healing, and rediscovering myself, along with reflections, resources, and uplifting thoughts to help light your way forward.

My hope is that this becomes a safe place where you feel understood, supported, and inspired to reclaim your life — one step at a time. Because while widowhood changes us forever, it does not end our story. We are living proof that there is, truly, sunshine after loss.
